How Long is The Tribulation

For the last 50 years or so, prophecy teachers have sold the American Christians on the idea that there is going to be a 7 year tribulation. There is a problem with this. Nowhere in scripture does it say that. Revelation clearly gives only a 3 ½ year tribulation period. This 7 year tribulation idea has caused a lot of confusion among Christians today who are trying to understand revelation and the timing of things.

Scofield introduced this 7 year concept in his King James commentaries about 90 years ago, but on this point I believe he was in error. Most prophecy teachers have run with the Scofield interpretation of Daniel 9 25-27

In the book of Daniel chapter 9 verses 25 through 27 as you know Israel was given 70 weeks to finish their transgression and to make and end of their sins and to make reconciliation for their sins. Daniels prophecy says that it would be 69 weeks until Jesus the Messiah was revealed. However, It further says that after 3 1/2 years Jesus would be cut off.

OK, we can deduce from this that the 69 weeks ended when Jesus started his ministry, then he was crucified at the 3 ½ year mark. This represents the fulfillment of the first 3 ½ years of the seventieth week. Hear is why.

Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

So in verse 26 we see his crucifixion, then there was a prince to come which was Titus leading the roman army that destroy the city and sanctuary. A historical fact.

Seventy weeks were assigned as probation to the Jewish people, but Jesus Christ appeared as the Messiah after sixty-nine weeks. That left the seventieth week for Christ to minister to the Jews before their probation period ended. This scripture tells us what would happen in the seventieth week:

Daniel 9:27 “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.”

Nowhere in this verse does it say anything about an antichrist making and breaking a covenant with the Israel.

People really have this part of Daniel messed up. Who made the covenant? Jesus did. Who cause the sacrifice to cease? Jesus did. Jesus became the sacrifice making animal sacrifice of no effect, and the verse says that Jesus was sacrificed in the middle of the week, fulfilling the first 3 ½ years. You can’t get any more precise that that.

Antichrist is nowhere to be found in this verse. However, if we accept the fact that this verse is referring to Messiah, Jesus Christ everything makes sense and falls perfectly into place. The middle of the week is three and a half years from the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River. According to the scriptures, the ministry of Jesus lasted for three and a half years, or half of the 70th week. Then Jesus was crucified. The veil of the temple was rent from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51) symbolizing the oblations and sacrifices had been terminated.

Through His death, Jesus Christ caused sacrifices to cease in the Jewish temple as far as God was concerned, although the Jews continued to offer sacrifices in the temple until the middle of 66 AD; Then the Roman armies destroyed the temple in Jerusalem.

Yes, Jesus made a covenant with many, all those who come to him for the forgiveness of their sins. 

After the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, another three and a half years remained of the seventy weeks and the end of Jewish probation. This will be fulfilled as the great tribulation period.

Now this is where it gets interesting. Once we know where to start the gentile age, we can predict the approximate time of the tribulation. God has given us the key to knowing his approximate time.

Hosea 5:15 the Lord says “I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early”. This happened with Jesus’s ascension to heaven after the resurrection.

And then in the very next verse he says. 

Hos 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

Hos 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Hos 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

The Jews rejected Jesus and sent him to the cross, he rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. From the Hosea verses above we know that the Lord returned to heaven for 2 days or 2000 years. 2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

 We clearly see from Hosea’s Prophecy that the 2 days begins from when Christ rose from the grave and ascended to heaven which is the midway point of the seventieth week. Then begins the age of the gentiles which ends at the end of the tribulation period.

Notice that the Lord did not say about 2 days give or take, or around 2 days. No, he said 2 days and we can count on that being the case.

Ok let’s do the math.

Jesus’s age when he died and ascended to heaven was 33 ½ + 2000 gentile age. = 2033 ½, which means the tribulation begins around the 2030 time frame. The same time globalist say the new world order will be complete (2030 agenda). The same time they also say in their documents that they will mark everyone.

However, there is an error in our calendar. Most researchers that have researched this say that there is about a 4 year error. If this is true then we could be looking at the tribulation starting around 2026. So between 9 years and 13 years away we will see the tribulation come to past.

Let me say clearly there is not going to be a seven year peace agreement that marks the beginning of a 7 year tribulation period. Furthermore, the globalist are not the ones who cuts the time short, God is the one who cuts it short for the elects sake. The Globalist are planning on a 1000 year communist rule. The seventh trumpet marks the beginning of the tribulation period and the out pouring of the bowls of judgement on the antichrist kingdom. The trumpet sounds for 3 ½ years.

Before this period starts there is going to be great chaos as we move into the opening of the seals and some of the trumpets that precede the tribulation period.  So if Christians think they are going to ride leisurely through the next 8 years under trumps administration, I’m afraid they are in for a rude awakening. Trump may very well be the catalyst the globalist use to further their Hegelian dialectic strategy.
